Treximet Medication Information
A combination of two different drugs, Treximet™ (sumatriptan/naproxen sodium) is a prescription medication used to treat migraine headaches. It comes in the form of a tablet and should be taken as soon as possible once a migraine starts. The medicine is not designed to prevent migraines.
Treximet is not suitable for everyone. To help ensure your safety, make sure your healthcare provider is aware if you have any of the following conditions:
- Heart problems of any kind, especially a history of heart disease, angina, an irregular heart rhythm, or a heart attack
- A history of stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA or "mini-stroke"), or other bleeding in the brain (such as a subarachnoid hemorrhage)
- Congestive heart failure (CHF)
- High blood pressure (hypertension).
