Imitrex® (sumatriptan succinate) is a medicine approved for treating migraine headaches. It works by narrowing the blood vessels in the head that become dilated during a migraine, helping them return to their normal state. Imitrex is available by prescription only and comes in the form of tablets, an injection, and a nasal spray. You should talk to your healthcare provider before using this migraine medication if you have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, or any heart problems.
