Inderal LA

Inderal LA is approved to control high blood pressure, relieve symptoms of angina, and treat other conditions related to the heart and blood vessels. The drug is effective at decreasing heart rate, the heart's workload, and systolic and diastolic blood pressures. However, it does not cure high blood pressure or any of the other conditions mentioned in this article.

What Is Inderal LA?

Inderal® LA (propranolol hydrochloride sustained-release) is a prescription medicine that has been licensed to treat several conditions related to the heart and blood vessels. It is part of a class of medicines called beta blockers. There is also an immediate-release form called Inderal® (propranolol).

Inderal LA is currently manufactured by Akrimax Pharmaceuticals, although it was originally made by Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.

Inderal LA may also be recommended off-label for other reasons, such as anxiety treatment. It has not been approved for use in children.
