Maxalt Use in Children and Teens

Maxalt is not approved for children and teens less than 18 years of age. One study of Maxalt for migraines in adolescents ages 12 to 17 did not show Maxalt to be effective for this age group. Talk with your healthcare provider about the benefits and risks of using Maxalt to treat migraines in children and teens.
 

Off-Label Maxalt Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Maxalt for something other than the condition(s) discussed above. This is called an "off-label" use. Treating cluster headaches is among the current off-label Maxalt uses.
