Drug Interactions With Topiramate

Risperidone (Risperdal)
Topiramate can decrease the level of risperidone in your blood, perhaps making it less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to increase your risperidone dose.

Valproic Acid (Depakene) or Divalproex Sodium (Depakote, Depakote ER)
Taking valproic acid or divalproex sodium with topiramate can decrease the level of both Topiramate and valproic acid or divalproex sodium in your blood, perhaps making the drugs less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to increase your dose of these medications. Also, taking these medications together can increase the level of ammonia in your blood, putting you at risk for brain problems.
